Many companies today are thinking about how they affect the planet, people, and society – not just about making a profit. This is where ESG comes in:
E – Environmental: How the company protects nature (reducing pollution, saving energy, using sustainable materials).
S – Social: How it treats people (employees, customers, communities, human rights).
G – Governance: How it is managed (honesty, fair rules, transparency, no corruption).
A sustainability strategy or ESG policy is the company’s plan for acting responsibly in these areas. For example, a design company might choose eco-friendly materials, reduce waste in production, support local artisans, or be transparent about where its products come from.
As part of the Three Voices in Green Erasmus+ KA2 project, our students will research and analyse the sustainability strategy or ESG policy of a real company in applied arts or industrial design. They will prepare presentations showing:
- What the company is doing for the environment
- How it supports people and communities
- How it manages itself responsibly
Why not try it yourself? Look at companies and institutions around you and ask:
What are they doing for the environment?
How are they helping the community?
Are they open and honest about their work?
