Plastia Nové Veselí has been involved as an associated company partner since the beginning of the Three Voices in Green project, co-creating activities and bringing a valuable industry perspective to our shared mission of connecting art education with sustainable design practices.
As we approach the third phase of the project – Virtual Reality & Design for Sustainability – Plastia’s role becomes more hands-on. While the company does not receive grant funding as an associated partner, it is now actively involved in the preparation and delivery of several project activities, contributing its expertise in sustainable production, circular economy, ESG strategies, and product design.
Plastia will take a leading part in several key activities of the international learning, teaching, and training event to be held in Jihlava in March 2026:
🔸 Lecture: Design in the Service of Nature
Led by Plastia’s team, this public lecture will introduce students, teachers, and guests to the company’s real-life ESG strategies, design workflows, and sustainability efforts, showcasing how responsible design can thrive in business.
🔸 Excursion: 0% Waste
Participants will tour Plastia’s production site to observe practical solutions for waste-free manufacturing, the use of sustainable materials, and modern approaches to environmental responsibility in production.
🔸 Workshop for Teachers: Sharing Best Practices
As part of a professional development session for teachers from three countries, Plastia will contribute as an industry expert, offering insights into how curricula can better reflect the evolving needs of the labor market. This includes discussion on the skills and competencies required for graduates entering sustainable design fields.
By involving Plastia, our project ensures that the educational content remains firmly rooted in real-world practice – and that students are exposed to sustainability not only as a theoretical concept, but as a practical and professional standard.
🌱 About Plastia: Design in the Service of Nature
Plastia Nové Veselí is a Czech company founded in 1993, combining modern production technologies with a deep respect for nature and people. All products are designed, developed, tested, manufactured, and distributed from one location in the Vysočina region, one of the cleanest areas in Europe.
The company is a leading example of ESG in practice, integrating environmental, social, and governance principles into every stage of their operation:
♻️ Environmental Responsibility
Plastia is committed to zero-waste production. All plastic waste from manufacturing is crushed and reused. Products are designed with long lifespans, easy disassembly, and clear material labeling to simplify recycling. When possible, they use recycled plastics or combine them with natural materials. Energy efficiency and the reuse of waste heat for heating are part of daily operations.
🧑🤝🧑 Social Engagement
The heart of Plastia’s mission lies in supporting people — their 100+ employees, local suppliers, and their customers, who are encouraged to reconnect with nature through growing herbs, flowers, and vegetables. Plastia actively promotes composting, biodiversity (via bird and insect-friendly products), and educational outreach, especially for children and young gardeners.
🧭 Governance and Innovation
With 22 product innovations and a modular, sustainable product portfolio, Plastia carefully balances economic sense and ecological impact. Every product must make sense — both in terms of design and sustainability. The company favors local supply chains, avoids unnecessary packaging, and is constantly looking for ways to reduce its ecological footprint.
Their guiding philosophy, “Design in the Service of Nature,” is visible in every part of the product life cycle — from material selection to after-use recyclability — and resonates deeply with the values of the Three Voices in Green project.
