đź—“ September 1 – March 16 online; presentations March 19, 2025
📍 eTwinning platform + Państwowe Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych im. Antoniego Kenara, Zakopane

As part of the activity “Artists and Sustainability”, students presented the outcomes of their eTwinning work, which had been in progress since September 2024. The task was to choose an artist who integrates environmental or sustainability themes into their work, and to prepare a short presentation.

A total of nine students from Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland shared their presentations during the session in Zakopane, introducing a diverse selection of artists who explore topics like waste, nature, reuse, eco-materials, and land art.

The featured artists were:

  • Teresa Murak – known for her work with living materials like cress
  • Zac Freeman – using found objects and recycled materials like buttons, keys, electronic components, and everyday trash
  • Maciej JabĹ‚oĹ„ski – combining natural textures and conceptual sculpture
  • Sandra Junele – working with yarn waste, transforming what was once considered waste into art
  • Maria Medina-Schechter – works in organic and living materials
  • Julie Peppito – creating colorful installations from recycled objects
  • El Anatsui – transforming waste materials into monumental textile-like works
  • Aurora Robson – using plastic waste to create complex sculptural forms
  • Renzo Piano – an architect known for sustainable design in large-scale architecture

The session gave all participants new insight into how professional artists address environmental themes and how creative practice can become a tool for change.
