Getting Ready for the First Project Meeting in Poland: Art, Nature, and Sustainability in the Tatra Mountains

In March 2025, students and teachers from our three partner schools will meet for the first time in person — in the beautiful mountain town of Zakopane, Poland — to begin the practical phase of our Erasmus+ KA2 partnership Three Voices in Green.

Hosted by the Polish partner school, Państwowe Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych im. Antoniego Kenara, the meeting will focus on exploring the connections between art, sustainability, and nature through a rich programme of workshops, excursions, and collaborative activities.

Students will take part in a printmaking workshop focused on the mokulito technique – an eco-friendly lithographic process using wood. Inspired by the surrounding Tatra landscape, students will create artworks that reflect their relationship to nature and environmental responsibility. Meanwhile, teachers will participate in a professional session for sharing good practices in sustainable art education, together with local artists and educators.

Right now, students from all three schools are preparing for the mobility through online eTwinning activities. In the “Artists and Sustainability” task, they are researching and presenting contemporary artists whose work engages with environmental themes. Their presentations will be shared during the Polish mobility.

Throughout the week in Zakopane, students and teachers will also take part in field trips and lectures. A special excursion is planned to a Printmaking Museum, where students will experience traditional woodblock printing and reflect on sustainable historical techniques.

The programme will conclude with a creative workshop on PET felt – a textile made from recycled plastic bottles – where students will design and produce lamp shades using this innovative material.

We are looking forward to a week filled with creativity, learning, and meaningful exchange. It will be the first step in a joint journey that connects sustainability with artistic education across borders.

Stay tuned — we will publish more articles about what we learned, experienced, and created together.
